🔒 The short version: Devo stores your reading progress, bookmarks, and preferences locally on your device. We do not collect personal information. We do not sell your data. We do not require account registration.
All of the following is stored only on your iPhone and never sent to our servers:
When you read a chapter or search the Bible, your request is sent to the Scripture API by the American Bible Society. This service may log API requests for operational purposes. We do not share personal information with this service.
When you use the "Ask AI" feature, your questions are sent to Anthropic's API. We recommend not sharing personal information in your AI conversations.
If you choose to support Devo through a tip, your payment is processed entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment information.
If you enable notifications, Devo schedules local notifications directly on your device. These are not sent through external servers — your device reminds itself based on your chosen schedule. You can disable notifications at any time in Settings → Notifications → Devo.
Devo is rated 4+ and appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, this applies equally to all users.
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by your device's built-in security (Face ID, passcode, encryption). We have no servers that could be breached to expose your reading habits or preferences.
Since we store no personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete or provide. Your data lives on your device and can be removed by uninstalling the app.
